An Overview of the Ayurvedic Treatment for Panic Attacks

An Overview of the Ayurvedic Treatment for Panic Attacks

Panic attacks… they can make a person stop everything in their life. They don’t want to go out to face the world. They don’t want to crawl out of bed. They don’t want to do anything that could make them have a panic attack. It’s the fear of having a panic attack where they do not know a single person or in front of people they do know that makes a person worry. Embarrassment it seems… is a driving factor behind a panic attack sufferer’s need to be reclusive.

Sometimes a person will avoid certain activities because those activities will trigger an attack. When a person suffers from an attack, they feel as they they’re dying or at least… going insane.

There are all kinds of treatments that a person suffering from panic attacks can turn to and use. The most common treatment is seeking the assistance of a psychologist and/or psychiatrist who will teach the sufferer more techniques to deal with the attacks. It’s also possible that the physician will prescribe medication to help the person reduce the severity of the attacks.

Look at the Ayurvedic Treatment for Panic Attacks – Physical Treatment

If you’re a person suffering from this condition, there is hope. Besides taking medication, there’s the ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks. What is this exactly? The ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks uses natural means to help the person deal with the attacks until he or she no longer experiences them.

How does the ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks work? The patient must have a massage daily, day and night. He or she will use sesame oil to massage into their skin and then take a shower in the morning and right before bedtime. What does this do? It helps the sufferer to relax his or her body that way they are calmer to face the day and to get a good night’s sleep.

A second ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks is taking a ginger and baking soda bath. This should be done after the person has had a whole body massage to further relax them.

A Look at the Ayurvedic Treatment for Panic Attacks – Food Treatment

Besides the physical aspects of the ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks, there are food treatments that can be done. For instance, they can consume certain amounts of tea such as Valerian and nut grass. Make sure the tea you decide to drink is caffeine free and all natural. You can also drink orange juice with a touch of honey and a pinch of nutmeg.  Another ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks is almond milk but it must be supplemented with pinches of ginger, nutmeg and saffron. Keep in mind that spicy foods should never be used as an ayurvedic treatment for panic attacks.
