Some people will turn to drugs and/or alcohol to solve their stressful situations. Some people will turn to medications, only to discover some time later that they are addicted to them.

There’s hope. There is a way to deal with the anxiety and stress without the use of medications. There are several ways you can deal with the stress of every day. All you need to do is implore the use of stress and anxiety management strategies. So how to deal with anxiety without medication?

Steps On How To Deal With Anxiety Without Medication

Step 1 – Recognize Your Stressor

One of the first steps on how to deal with anxiety without medication goes into recognizing what the factors behind the anxiety and stress. Is there are a particular situation or person that’s causing your anxiety problem? From here, determine if there are ways to avoid them. If so, then do it as often as you can.

Step 2 – Breaking Away and Getting Handle on Yourself

The second step on how to deal with anxiety without medication that you should follow includes taking a break from the stressor and getting a handle on the situation and yourself. After that, come back to the issue with a fresh perspective.

Step 3 – Change How You React

A third step on how to deal with anxiety encourages you to change how you would react to the stressor. For instance, determine what is most important and focus on one thing and one thing only. Consider sharing your anxiety with someone you trust or joining a support group who understands about your particular anxiety.

Step 4 – Letting the Stress Go

The fourth step on how to deal with anxiety without medication is to let go of the stress and anxiety you are feeling. This is not done overnight and will take practice but it can be done.

Other Ways to Deal With Anxiety and Stress

The four steps above are great ways to deal with stress but there are other ways you can deal with stress. How to deal with anxiety without medication besides the four steps above? They include:

- Focus on something that is not stressful
- Meditation
- Listening to music
- Reading
- Exercise
- Journaling

Still want to know how to deal with anxiety without medication? Consider doing some things that can make your body healthy. For instance, get a good night’s sleep, get regular exercise and eat healthy. When you eat foods like fruits and vegetables, your mind and body will give you the strength to deal with stress and anxiety head on.

The best way to deal with stress and anxiety without using medication is to keep a positive outlook and stop worrying. If it seems you can’t do that and feel you need help, consider speaking with a therapist about your concerns. From there, your therapist will determine if medication is right for you.
