The Physical and Psychological Causes of Panic Attacks

People who suffer continuously with panic attacks often wonder to themselves what causes of panic attacks are there. Unfortunately, there is not one simple answer to this question but many answers. One answer that usually ranks highest is the fear of the unknown.  After all, when you don’t know what is going to happen, you’re bound to get a bit uneasy about it. The fears the person feels are further enhanced by the changes the body is going through. As these fears become increasingly high, it will begin to engulf them, causing them to become inflicted with a panic attack.

How To Combat The Causes of Panic Attacks – A Look at the Physical and Psychological Side of Panic Attacks

It’s important to look at the physical and psychological side of the condition to understand the causes of panic attacks. After you have the full understanding, it’s then important not to become overwhelmed by the information at hand. When the symptoms arise, for what looks like out of nowhere, it’s vitally important to not become beleaguered by those symptoms.

So what’s the answer to handling the causes of panic attacks? Actually, the answer lies within yourself. When symptoms seem to arise, you must empower yourself to stay strong so that you can deal with the cause of panic attacks. So what are the causes of panic attacks?

Causes of Panic Attacks – Phobias

Phobias are usually noted to be causes of panic attacks. How do phobias take shape? It’s often associated with a distressing event that makes a huge impact on you and how you live your life. When you begin to feel the experience once more either in reality or in your mind, panic attacks can ensue. The only way to be rid of the panic attacks of this kind is to rid the mind of the experience completely.

An example of past experience phobias:

You’re sitting at a red light, behind a vehicle when you suddenly notice that the vehicle behind you isn’t stopping. The next thing you know you hear a loud crash and your car being thrown into the vehicle in front of you. You’re scared, angry and hurt. After your physical wounds have healed, you begin to drive once more. Yet, you anxiously wait for a repeat especially at red lights. The fear, it seems, comes out of nowhere. This is a driving phobia.

Causes of Panic Attacks – Biological Reasons

Phobias are not the only causes of panic attacks. There are biological reasons for them as well. For instance, a diet that doesn’t include plenty of Vitamin B or other healthy foods can cause a person to become inflicted with panic attacks. Besides a poor diet, other causes of panic attacks include medical ailments such as:

- Hyperthyroidism
- Hypoglycemia
- Inner ear problems

A Look at Other Causes of Panic Attacks

Panic attacks do not have to relate to a poor diet or traumatic experience. They can occur for other reasons as well. For instance, the consumption of alcohol or medicine and drug withdrawal are causes of panic attacks. If you suffer from hyperventilation syndrome, you may begin to have panic attacks. A sudden death in the family can cause panic attacks especially as you deal with the loss.

As noted, there are many causes of panic attacks. However, there are just five primary reasons for them. These include:

- Hereditary reasons
- Lack of brazenness
- Lack of proper nutrition
- Pharmacological triggers
- Phobias

If you notice you are having panic attacks, it’s vitally important to find out the causes of panic attacks and seek help right away.
