Three Natural Biological Treatments for Panic Attacks

Three Natural Biological Treatments for Panic Attacks

When a person suffers from panic attacks, they always have a need to explain why the attacks are happening and a need to get rid of them. After all, they want to live a normal life¸ away from the fear of panic attacks. When a panic attack sufferer decides to forgo treatment, they’ll begin to suffer even bigger problems such as agoraphobia (a fear of public places where a person is shut in their home until they seek treatment).

If you’re looking to get over the panic attacks that are taking over your life, there’s a psychological treatment that actually deals with the underlying reasons behind your attacks. What are some of the reasons behind panic attacks? You could have gone through a childhood trauma or you’re in a high stress circumstance.

Several Biological Treatments for Panic Attacks

On top of the psychological treatments for panic attacks, there are also biological treatments for panic attacks. Both can be used simultaneously. So what are the biological treatments for panic attacks?

Biological Treatment 1 – Breathing

If you’re looking for a biological treatment for panic attacks, the first one you should consider is to learn how to breathe correctly. When a panic attack is going on, your body is tense and you’re unable to breathe because your chest is tightening up. These problems will only augment the panic attacks because your body is unable to deal with the stress that’s it’s enduring.

With this biological treatment for panic attacks, you’re able to learn how to breathe through your diaphragm, pulling in each deep breath, slowly into your lung and then expelling all of it from the lungs. When it’s done this way, you’re able to focus on just the breathing aspect rather than focusing on the trigger of the anxiety.

Biological Treatment 2 – Body Relaxation

A second biological treatment for panic attacks is to relax your body. Give yourself a massage once in the morning after you wake up and once in the evening right before bed. When you can give yourself a massage, you make your body feel relaxed and ready to face the day. Why nighttime massages? When you make your body feel relaxed during the evening hours, you sleep better without the worry of stress interrupting it.

Biological Treatment 3 – Individual Relaxation

Another biological treatment for panic attacks is tensing up your muscles for a few seconds and then letting them relax entirely.

For some individuals, there are medications that can be used for a biological treatment for panic attacks. These medications are generally for anti anxiety and antidepressants. However, a natural biological treatment for panic attacks is to avoid certain chemicals such as alcohol, caffeine and tobacco. This can heighten a panic attack.
